Things we bought

We bought the electrical bedside lamps for the wedding. Although it looks kinda ghastly due to the redness, it's really nice when you look at it closeup =)

Guo Da Li on 17th May 2009

Our Guo Da Li is a really simple affair, with both sides cutting down on a lot of unnecessary stuff that we will never use. We had only 8 oranges, 10 cans of Pork Legs, 2 bottles of hard liquors and the 聘金 (dowry) for Mark's side and 2 bottles of orange concentrate for my side. Actually I haven't seen anything like ours before...LOL

Anyway, I was given the task of wrapping the handle of the basket and arranging the items for the Guo Da Li by my MIL. Note that even the basket is so non-traditional...haha

We bought the pretty golden 喜 stickers from Chinatown...

Our wedding cakes were from
http://www.kyo.com.sg/ and their butter walnut cake is really good! It's quite reasonable at $7.80 each but you need to put up with the cheesy cake boxes though.

Even more non-traditional is the fact that we went to Robinsons after our Guo Da Li to choose the bedsheet that my mum is buying for us. Initially I wanted a dark purple and white comtemporary style bedsheet but everyone told me that it is totally not suitable for wedding so I had to reluctantly put that down and Marky chose this Jean Perry red one instead. It has very subtle flowers that are only obvious when it is against the light as you can see below.

Now you see it...

Now you don't...

New dressing table

Went to Geylang East Central's CY Chen Furniture shop last week to get our dressing table after getting a computer chair from them not so long ago. It was really cheap @ $220 and most importantly functional. I don't really wanna spend so much on furniture now as we will need to save up for furniture in our new house soon (I hope...)

Just today, we went to Courts to buy a chest of drawers to place on the other side of the bed as according to Marky, I'm invading into his space, thus resulting in him having a lot less space for his things. He is currently occupying 1/3 of the wardrobe. You know what I mean...so my mother in law bought us the drawers =)
